Common Questions

Warranty FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear most from homeowners.

Your warranty coverage begins at closing. Standard workmanship items are typically covered for one year, while major structural components carry longer coverage periods. Your specific warranty terms are outlined in the warranty documentation provided at closing. If you need a copy, contact our warranty team.
Submit your claim using the form linked at the top of this page, or email warranty@druther.homes with a description of the issue and photos. Include your address, the location of the issue within the home, when you first noticed it, and any relevant details. Our team will acknowledge receipt and begin the review process.
Timelines vary based on the nature of the issue and trade partner availability. Emergency items are addressed as quickly as possible. For standard claims, our team will provide an estimated timeline after review. We strive to keep you informed at every step and will coordinate scheduling at times convenient for you.
In most cases, yes — we ask that a homeowner or authorized representative be present (or provide access) when our trade partners visit. This ensures the work can be reviewed and any questions about the issue can be addressed on-site. We'll work with your schedule to find a convenient time.
Minor drywall cracks and nail pops are common in new construction as your home settles during its first year. These are typically cosmetic and result from the natural movement of building materials as they acclimate to temperature and humidity changes. These items are generally addressed during your one-year warranty review. If you notice significant or recurring cracking, please submit a claim so we can evaluate it.
Appliances are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties, not the Druther Homes builder warranty. Refer to the appliance manuals and warranty cards provided at closing for coverage details and service contact information. If you're unsure which manufacturer to contact, our team can help point you in the right direction.
Regular maintenance is an important part of protecting your home and your warranty coverage. Key responsibilities include:
  • Changing HVAC filters regularly (every 1–3 months)
  • Maintaining caulking around windows, tubs, and showers
  • Keeping gutters and downspouts clear
  • Monitoring grading and drainage around your foundation
  • Servicing your HVAC system annually
Neglecting routine maintenance may affect warranty coverage for related issues. Your homeowner binder includes detailed maintenance guidance.
